J. Gregory Wallace
was born and raised in West Virginia and graduated
with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marshall University in
1970 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1973. He has taught
at the U.S. Naval Academy, was Chair of the Legal
Department of the NC Justice Academy, served as an
Assistant Attorney General for North Carolina, was Clerk
of the Supreme Court of North Carolina for ten years, and
is a partner in the Raleigh law firm of Monroe, Wyne &
Wallace, P.A., with a practice focusing on the legal and
planning needs of the elderly and disabled.
Greg is a member of the National
Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is Co-President of the
North Carolina Chapter of NAELA. He is Past Chair of
the Elder Law Section of the North Carolina Bar
Association and is retired from the United States Naval
Reserve as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General’s
Corps.
Greg was an Interactor in high school
and has been a member of the Rotary Club of North Raleigh
since 1993. He served as club President in
2000-2001, served two years as Assistant District Governor
for District 7710, and one year as District Service Chair.
He is currently his club’s Foundation Chair. Greg
is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor, and a
Sustaining Member of the Rotary Foundation.
In other activities, Greg has served
on the Boards of Directors of Resources for Seniors, Inc.,
and the Eastern NC Chapter of the Alzheimer’s
Association, and has served his church as a teacher, choir
member, and as member and chair on many boards and
committees. He is currently the Vice-Chair of the
Church Council and Lay Delegate to the North Carolina
Annual Conference. Greg’s recreational hobbies are
scuba diving and golf.
