Andrew
E. “Andy” Turner is a Federal Acquisitions
Management consultant and instructor to federal agencies
in the
Washington
DC
area, former Manager of Contracts for three major
telecommunications companies, and served the US Air Force
for 22 years as an aviator, contracting officer and
assistant Inspector General.
Andy has a BA degree from
Dartmouth
College
and a MS in Systems Management from the
University
of
Southern California
.
In
Rotary, Andy served District 7610 as Governor in 2001-02.
He served the District as GSE Chairman for over 11 years,
District Secretary, Assistant Governor, Hosting Director
for the Russian Leadership Program and GSE Team Leader to
Germany
, 1999. He has held all leadership positions including
President of the Rotary Club of Mount Vernon, VA over his
20 plus year membership. He has served on various Zone 33/34
Institute committees. He received the District Rotary
Foundation Service and was nominated for the RI Service
above Self award.
Andy
and Rotarian wife, Ellie (Club Pres. 08-09), are
multiple Paul Harris Fellows, Sustaining Members, and
Benefactors. They are past Co-Chairs of the Neighborhood
Friends of Historic Mount Vernon and do volunteer work at
George Washington’s Estate in colonial attire. They have
been married for over 50 years and have two sons and two
grandchildren. His hobbies are golf, travel and gourmet
eating.
