Charles
Seay is retired from Eastman Chemical Company,
Kingsport, Tennessee. He served as a Director of
International Marketing, residing in the USA, Canada and
Switzerland. He was born in Lebanon, Tennessee, growing up
in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Auburn
University, Alabama, with a Batchelor’s Degree in
Mechanical Engineering. He served in World War II as a
pilot of B-25’s in the South Pacific, completing 70
missions and receiving the Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf
clusters.
Charlie
is a member of The Rotary Club of Cary MacGregor, Cary,
North Carolina. He was a member of The Rotary Club of
Kingsport, Tennessee on District 7570 for 28 years before
moving to North Carolina in 2004. He currently serves on
the Board
of his club and chairs the Vocational Service
Committee.
Charlie
is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow recipient, a Rotary
Foundation Benefactor and Sustainer, and a William Skelton
Fellow, as is his wife Mary. He received the Service above
Self Award in 1997. He has served on the Zone Nominating
Committee for RI Director and on the College on
Legislation, and has been the President’s Representation
to a number of District Conferences.
In
civic activities, Charlie is an elder in the Presbyterian
church, has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce of
Kingsport, Tennessee, and served for two years after
retirement as the Coordinator of the Kingsport annual
summer festival, “Fun Fest”.
