John
J. “Jack” Porter
is currently President of Steppingstones, an
organization that provides recreation for people with
disabilities, and serves as Professor Emeritus at the
College of Business & Economics at
West Virginia
University
.
Jack
has been a Rotarians for over 37 years and is a Past-President
(1992-93) of the Morgantown WV Rotary Club. He served as
District Governor in 1999-2000 of Rotary District 7530.
He
currently serves on The Zone 33 Rotary Leadership
Institute as Treasurer and Board Member, and previously
served on the charter RLI Executive Committee.
He recently served on Past RI Director Ken Morgan’s Advisory
Committee for Zones 33 & 34. In District 7530 Jack
serves as District Trainer, Chairperson of Major Gifts
& Benefactors to The Rotary Foundation, and on the
Rotary Foundation Information Committee. He is a
tremendous advocate for and supporter of The Rotary
Foundation.
In
civic matters, Jack serves on the Board of Directors of
the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus, on his
church’s Pastor-Parish and Council Boards, and is on the
Board of Directors for
Mylan
Park
(recreational facilities) and United Bank Board (Monongalia
County Banks).
Jack
has a wife, Libby, a son, David, and a daughter, Beth.
