Vivian
W. Mott,
Ph.D. is Professor and Chair of the Department of
Counselor & Adult Education at East Carolina
University in Greenville, NC. She holds a Ph.D. and
graduate Certificate in Gerontology from the University of
Georgia and a Masters of Science (Education) from the
University of Tennessee. She is a Salzburg Fellow of the
Institute of American Studies in Salzburg (Austria), Houle
Research Scholar, and recipient of numerous outstanding
teaching and service awards, including being named one of
ten ECU Centennial Women of Distinction in 2007. Vivian
was named Rotarian Leader of the Year in District 7720
(2005-06). Vivian is founder and co-owner of Wilson Mott
& Associates, a consulting and management firm
specializing in human resources, organizational culture,
and training and development.
Vivian
was among the first women to join Rotary in Tennessee in
1987 and has been a member of the Greenville Noon Rotary
Club since 1996. Her club is one of 45 in District 7720,
in eastern North Carolina. She has served her club as Club
President, Club Secretary, Sergeant-at-Arms, Community
Service Chair, and Club Service Chair; she served as the
Paul Harris Society Chair, District Museum Chair
(exploring the development of a District archive and
museum in the historical Greenville Rotary Club building),
and Assistant District Governor for three terms from
2003-2006. Vivian currently serves as District Governor
for D7720. She
and her husband, Don, are Major Donors to The Rotary
Foundation, multiple Paul Harris Fellows, members of the
Bequest Society and Paul Harris Society.
Vivian
is active in numerous community and professional
associations including the Women's Forum of North
Carolina, Jeannette Rankin Foundation National Advisory
Council, Pitt County
Women's Commission, the ECU Performing Arts Board, and the
Commission of Professors of Education.
Vivian
and her husband (who is also a Rotarian) are members of
St. Paul's Episcopal Church; she enjoys traveling,
reading, photography, pottery, and miniature furniture
crafting. |
