Tarek Moneir is a Rotarian with Rotary Club of Roanoke Valley, Virginia and fourteen years of perfect attendance.  He is the President Elect and currently served as the Rotary Foundation Chairman for Roanoke Valley.  He has served on many club committees, including GSE team committee; Program committee; and, board members.  He was a member of four different clubs in four different States. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and Sustaining Member of The Rotary Foundation. Tarek is married and has two daughters.

In his community, Moneir is an active member and serves on several local boards of directors and civic organizations such as chamber of commerce, and YMCA.  Moneir served as adjunct faculty member in several universities teaching graduate courses in planning practices, architecture design and location theories.  He is a professional speaker, and facilitator of American Rising Star program and member of the Research Institute.  He is very resourceful, creative, and professional in applying TQI training to real life examples and practical development process.

Moneir, Deputy Director of Development with Roanoke County, Virginia, is an architect and city planner with over 22 years of economic development management and government experience in North America, and Africa.  His economic development experience spans the full spectrum of development and redevelopment process from formulating ideas, goals, and objectives, to implementation strategy and procurement. 

Prior to joining Roanoke County, Moneir held several executive and management positions in variety of municipalities, private corporations and chamber of commerce.  He also had his own planning practice and partnered with private architecture and planning firms.  His experience working in various capacities including presidency with various non-profit organizations honed and seasoned his strategic planning.  He has extensive management experience with building and leading successful programs in planning organizations, local government, economic development, and non-profit partnership organizations.
