Robert
A. (Bob) Melone is a retired Superintendent of Schools
from Western New York State.
He began his career as a science teacher in Niagara
Falls, NY. For
the next 25 years Bob served as a high school guidance
counselor, Director of Pupil Personnel, Director of
Secondary Education and Director of Curriculum and
Instruction, K-12. For
the last 8 years he served as Superintendent of Schools.
After retirement, Bob worked in the
transportation industry as Coordinator of Special
Projects. His
responsibilities included safety, training and quality. He
also consulted with transportation companies interested in
achieving ISO 9000 certification.
Bob has a Doctor of Education Degree
from the State University of Buffalo, Masters in Guidance
and Counseling, Masters in Teaching Science in Secondary
Schools and BA in Biology.
Bob recently co-authored Shifting Gears: Applying
ISO 9000 Quality Management Principles to Trucking.
In 1978 Bob joined the Rotary Club of
the Tonawandas, NY and in 1981 served as President.
During his tenure in Tonawanda he spirited club
interest in student art and was active in the District
Group Study Exchange Committee.
Bob joined the Cary MacGregor Club in 2001 and has
served as Director of Community Service, chaired the
club’s committee of the ‘Celebration of Talent’
Scholarship program, and has recently developed a power
point presentation for the orientation of new members.
In 2003 Bob became a Paul Harris Fellow.
