Milton L. “Milt”
Iossi
is a retired 32-year U.S. Foreign Service diplomat serving
in posts in Europe, North Africa, and
South Asia
. Born in
Sioux Falls
,
SD
, he received his B.A. at the
Univ.
of
Minnesota
and thereafter pursued graduate studies at
Princeton
and The National War College. He served during the Korean
War.
Milt
became a Rotarian in 1983 in
Dhaka
,
Bangladesh
, while serving in the U.S. Embassy. A Charter Member of
the South Brunswick Islands Rotary Club in Shallotte, NC,
he was Governor of District 7730 (1993-94), GSE Team
Leader to South India (1997), and district committee chair
for the District Rotary Foundation Committee, World
Community Service, and the Coins for Alzheimer’s
Research Trust (CART).
He
is past Chairman of the RI Diplomatic Protocol Committee
and was 2004-06
consultant to the RI General
Secretary. He
has
served RI as on numerous
RI committees,
as Delegate to the 2001 Council on Legislation, and
President’s Representative. He
and his wife, Toni are multiple
Paul Harris Fellows,
and he is a Benefactor
and Sustaining
Member.
Milt
is also active in a many community charitable and cultural
organizations, and was selected for the Governor’s Award
for Outstanding Volunteer Service in 1998. He is
Past-Chair of the Board of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation. He has 3
grown children. His interests include reading, diplomacy,
history, aviation, golf, volunteer service, and personal
investing.
