Sandy
Duckworth is retired as President of Duckworth &
Associates, a fundraising, event and project management
company. She
was born and raised in Columbia, SC.
She attended the University of Tennessee where she
met husband Don.
Sandy
has been a member of the Rotary Clubs of Honolulu, HI,
Springfield, VA and Stafford, VA and has served in
numerous club leadership positions including club
president in 1995-97.
She was District Governor for 7610 in 2002-03.
She has maintained perfect attendance, is a Major
Donor to the Rotary Foundation, a Charter Member of the
Bequest Society, a Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member and
a charter member of the Paul Harris Society of District
7610 which she established during her year as governor.
She currently chairs the District 7610 Foundation
and Legislative Committees; is a Zone 33 Gift Advisor, and
RI Open World Program Representative; the district’s
representative to the 2007 Council on Legislation; and is
a member of RI’s Extension Committee.
In 2002-03, Sandy served on the prestigious
five-member Credentials Committee for the Barcelona RI
Convention.
She has been active in many
aspects of community, state and national affairs, and has
served on and/or chaired numerous boards and commissions
during her career. She
has received a U.S. Presidential appointment, two Virginia
Gubernatorial appointments and a Hawaii Gubernatorial
appointment. She has received recognition in American Biographical Institute’s Notable Americans, World Who’s Who
of Women, Who’s Who in American Politics and Who’s Who
in Southern Politics and has been featured in numerous
national publications. Sandy and Don have
three children and five grandchildren.
They live in Fredericksburg, Virginia. |
