MARY
A. DEAN
is a retired corporate manager in the television
broadcasting industry. A native of the Buckhannon, West
Virginia area, and a real “coal miner’s daughter”,
she attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and Fairmont
State College in Business Management before beginning her
career in television.
Mary
joined the Rotary Club of Buckhannon, West Virginia in
1991 and subsequently served the club as President and
Rotary Foundation Chairperson. She served as Assistant
Governor for three years before serving as District
Governor for District 7530 in 2000-01; as Zone 33 Rotary
Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Chair 2003-05; District
7530 2007 Delegate to the Council on Legislation. Also,
she has served as District Membership Chairperson,
Polio-Plus Chairperson and discussion leader for several
District Assemblies and PETS. Currently she serves on the
Zone 33 RLI Board and faculty.
Mary
is a Major Donor, Bequest Society member, and a Benefactor
of The Rotary Foundation.
She
is married to her husband, Larry, who is also a Rotarian
with Buckhannon Rotary Club. She has two sons and six
grandchildren. Her interests include grandchildren,
Rotary, singing in the church choir, and travel. |
