Laura A. Bayless is Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at Longwood University, Farmville, Virginia. Growing up in Kettering, Ohio, Laura earned degrees from Denison University (BA), Miami University-Ohio (MS), and Virginia Tech (PhD). She enjoys working directly with students as well as creating systems in which students are challenged and can succeed. Laura is the Chair of the American College Personnel Association’s Commission for Administrative Leadership.

Laura is currently Assistant Governor for District 7600 and the Secretary for the Farmville Club.

The Rotary Club of Radford, Virginia was Laura’s first Rotary Club from 1995-97. She then stopped out while earning her PhD and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Farmville since 2001. She has earned perfect attendence throughout her Rotary membership. Laura was President of the Rotary Club of Farmville from 2003-2005, and in Rotary’s 2004-05 Centennial Year, Farmville was awarded the Governor’s Cup and Laura as honored as an Outstanding President. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, a Sustaining Member, and a Foundation Benefactor.

Laura is active in community-based arts, working both on and off stage in a community theater, a community chorus, and a community orchestra.
