Jon
A. Allan is a project manager for a leading
information technology company providing security
solutions for commercial and government clients. Jon was born in Syracuse NY and grew up in Washington,
California, New York and Maine.
He graduated with an engineering degree from the
University of Maine in 1962 and earned a master’s degree
in operations research from Purdue University in 1968.
Jon completed a career in the United States Army,
retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1983.
Jon joined the Burke, Virginia Rotary
Club in 1984 and served as its president for the 1992-1993
Rotary year. Jon
served as Area Representative (now Assistant Governor) for
three District 7610 governors. In 2005, he completed four
years as District Trainer during which he instituted a
program of facilitator training and promoted the use of
interactive instruction at district training events. He is
currently serving in his second year as District
Secretary. He
joined the faculty of the Rotary Leadership Institute in
2004.
Jon and Mary, his wife of 47 years,
have resided in Burke since 1981 and their daughter,
Julie, resides in Charleston South Carolina where she
teaches elementary school.
Jon and Mary are both Paul Harris Fellows and
Benefactors. Jon
is also a member of the District 7610 Paul Harris Society. |
