October
3, 2009 (Boone, NC). District 7670 hosted
a very successful Institute on October 3, 2009 in Boone
NC. Caldwell Community College- Watauga Campus - provided
a spectacular backdrop for the event, and an excellent venue for
sharing Rotary and learning valuable leadership skills.
William Parker served as Facilities
Coordinator for the event according to District 7670 RLI
Chair David Sink, who served as Program Chair.
Parts I & II of the Institute were
offered. Part I participants included Rotarians Ryan
Councill, Joyce Fox, Stephanie Madanski, Ron McKinney,
Maureen Mulhall, Melissa Pennscott and Sandra Vizner.
Part
II Participants included Jennifer Dirkes,
Bob Kinkaid, Nora Linderbeck, Stephen Padgett, Chuck
Moseley, and Wade (Hamp) Shuford, who are all on track to
obtain graduate recognition after one more section of the
Institute.
The All-Star Faculty included: District
7670 DGN Bill Parker, former District 7720 RLI Chair Karl
McKinnon, PDG Mark Markanda from Charlotte, District 7680,
and District 7670 Immediate PDG David Sink.
According to DGN Bill Parker "The Rotarians
were eager, interested, engaged, and participated fully in
all of the sessions. At times it was difficult to
end the sessions and stay on schedule".
When we get Rotarians excited about
Rotary- and can't get them to stop sharing their
experiences and exchanges of ideas at the end of sessions-
that's a successful Rotary Leadership
Institute!
