12, 2008 (Harrisonburg, VA)
The Harrisonburg RLI was unique in that it featured not
only the normal three levels of Leadership Training, but
also featured the first Graduate Course for RLI in Zone
33.
Six Rotarians were involved in the History of Rotary
led by PDG and RLI Zone Chair Bevin Wall, and Club
Visioning and Strategic Planning led by Zone 33 RLI
Trainer Pam Wall.
A detailed description of these classes is included in
the sidebar to the right.
A participant commented: "Excellent
RLI Graduate Courses!! I would love to see the
history course expanded as that interests me a great deal...
I find it fascinating to learn what molded Paul Harris
into Rotary’s founding father! And then to look at
all that has been accomplished through the years,
especially in those early years... Thanks for a great day!
I am anxiously looking forward to future graduate
courses!!"
In addition to the 25 Rotarians joining in this
memorable event, 5 Level Three Rotarians graduated with
honors and were pinned.
The entire Spotswood Country Club facility was used for
this event, as two new RLI Faculty members were trained by
PDG Bob Stallsworth.
The Harrisonbug RLI is on the schedule for the same
location on November 6th, 2009. Come and invite
fellow Rotarians!

Grad01-
The History of Rotary's First Hundred Years: How did we
get here? As
the Rotary Centennial fades in our memory, this course
looks at the founding years and subsequent century of the
organization with a critical eye. How did our basic
principles develop? Have we always been about Youth,
Vocation, Community, International, or even Service
concerns? When difficult times or issues faced Rotary, how
did our organization react? What has the impact of The
Rotary Foundation been on Rotary? How did corporate
programs and goals, like Youth Exchange & Polio
Eradication, develop? Have these changes been good for our
organization?
