Named as Chair, Ferrill as Vice-Chair of the Institute
Board

| June 3, 2007 (Greensboro,
NC) The new Zone 33 RLI Board elected Bevin
Wall of Newport, NC as Chair of the Institute, Ron
Ferrill as Vice-Chair and made numerous other
appointments during their Board Meeting following the
Annual Meeting on June 3, 2007 at the Greensboro (NC)
Marriott Airport Hotel.
In additional to Wall and Ferrill,
Board members Bob
Stallworth, Glenn
Hood, Mary
Dean, Bill
Boyd and Pam
Wall were present at the meeting. Outgoing Board
Chair, RI Director-Elect Eric
Adamson, was unable to attend.
Wall, a Past District Governor from Rotary District
7730 in Southeast North Carolina, has been involved with
Zone 33 RLI since the beginning, serving on the Charter
Executive Committee, and then the Board of Directors, last
year serving as Vice-Chair. He has served the Institute as
Curriculum/Materials Coordinator, Faculty Trainer, Web
Editor/Database Manager and in many other capacities. He
and his wife Pam have developed, organized, and conducted
the Faculty Training for the Institute since its
inception. His revision of the RLI curriculum materials
were adopted by RLI International in 2006 for use around
the world. He is on the RLI International Curriculum
Committee and is a RLI International Training
Leader. He is currently RI Zone 33 Membership Coordinator,
Carolinas' PETS Discussion Leader, District 7730 Rotary
Foundation Chair, and was a 2007 Delegate to the RI
Council on Legislation.

Ferrill, also a Past District Governor, hails from
Martinsville VA, and served as Governor of District 7570
in 1998-99. He has worked in many positions in Zone 33 RLI,
as District 7570 Chair, Virginia/ East Tennessee State
Coordinator, and joined the RLI Board last year. Ron will
continue to serve as Newsletter Editor for the Institute,
where he has produced a topical and informative
publication vital to the promotion and support of the
Institute. He brings a wealth of experience to RLI, having
been a Zone Institute Discussion Leader, frequent RI
President's Representative, RI Zone 33 Membership
Coordinator, 2004 Council on Legislation Delegate, and
PETS Discussion Leader.
The Board appointed State Coordinators Dave
Cavender (WV), Abe
Clymer (VA/E-TN), Bill
Wilson (W-NC), Bob Stinson (E-NC) Sue
Poss (SC) and Pam
Wall (Caribbean). The Board also made operational
appointments including Jack
Porter continuing as Treasurer, Barbara Hargroves as
Registrar, Glenn
Hood as Promotions & Publicity Coordinator, and Pam
Wall as Faculty Trainer, with Hood and Porter as
Assistant Faculty Trainers.
A Resolution of Appreciation was adopted by the Board
recognizing the service of outgoing (rotational) Board
Member Eric
Adamson and outgoing Board Member Jack
Porter.
The Annual Board Retreat was set for August
31-September 2, 2007 at The Ocean Club Executive
Conference Center, Indian Beach, NC.
