RLI Featured by Districts at Carolinas' PETS in Greensboro NC

March 16, 2007 (Greensboro NC).  Over 500 Participants of Carolinas' PETS (President Elect Training Seminar), including over 350 President-Elects from seven North and South Carolina Districts were provided with the information about RLI during their district sessions this weekend. The NC-SC RLI Flyer, customized with the closest 2007-08 venue locations for their clubs, was included in each district's PETS President's Notebook or was passed out as a handout in sessions. Two Flyers per club, plus ample numbers for club leadership were provided.

Governor-Elects Bill Shillito (7670), Graham Wilson (7680), David McCoy (7690), Barry Phillips (7710), Brad Sears (7720), Wilson Ray (7730) and Myles Golden (7750) stressed the materials in different ways during their district sessions. Using RLI to strengthen clubs' leadership pools  showed up in the specific goals for a number of the districts, while others publicized the institute in their district specifically or encouraged completion of the series of classes by those who had started the courses by attending Part I or Part II.

Even more encouraging were the unsolicited testimonials from a number of President-Elects- not only in their district-specific sessions, but also within the small group breakout sessions on the topics of club administration, membership, service projects, and The Rotary Foundation. PETS Discussion Leaders reported numerous instances of RLI participants in their sessions commenting on the breadth of Rotary knowledge and leadership skills refined in RLI sessions, and how RLI had given them a needed "foundation" for their year as Club President. President-Elects were encouraged by their peers to send their prospective club leaders to RLI!

Zone 33 Chair & RI Director-Elect Eric Adamson was a guest of Carolinas' PETS and observed many of the sessions. RLI Vice-Chair, Bevin Wall, RLI Board Members & State Coordinators Glenn Hood and Sue Poss , and RLI Faculty Johnny Robertson, Jim Stump and Mike Thacker all served as Carolinas' PETS Discussion Leaders.
